Understanding Status Code and Regional Distribution Data in Atomile

Atomile provides comprehensive Status Code and Regional Distribution data to help you analyze service performance and troubleshoot issues effectively. This document explains how to access and interpret this data.

Accessing Status Statistics

To access status statistics in the Atomile Console, follow these steps:

  1. Log In: Open the Atomile Console and select the relevant product.
  2. Navigate to Status Statistics: In the console menu, click Statistical Analysis and then select Status Statistics.
  3. Choose a Tab: You will see two tabs: Status Code and Regional/ISP Distribution. Click the tab for the data you want to view.
  4. Filter and Query: Specify the desired query time range and domain, and then click Query to display the data.
  5. Export Data (Optional): To export detailed data, click the export icon image.png in the upper-right corner of the chart.

Each tab presents status-related data from a different perspective, as described below.

Status Code Data

The Status Code tab provides insight into the status of requests processed by Atomile. It includes three reports: Edge, Real-time, and Back-to-Origin.

Edge Status Codes

This report displays status codes observed at the edge servers.

  • Granularity: By default, data is displayed with hourly granularity. Daily granularity is also available.
  • 5-Minute Granularity: To access 5-minute granularity data, click Apply for opening to request data collection. Contact Atomile technical support to check the activation status. Once enabled, you can query 5-minute data for the period after activation.
  • Timeliness: The Edge report is less real-time than the Real-time report. Displayed data may be delayed by more than 10 minutes. For more timely 5-minute data, use the Real-time report.

Real-time Status Codes

This report provides a near real-time view of status codes at the edge servers.

  • Granularity: Data is displayed in 5-minute granularity by default. Other granularities are not supported.
  • Timeliness: This report provides higher timeliness. For example, at 9:48 AM, you can typically view data up to 9:45 AM.

Back-to-Origin Status Codes

This report shows status codes related to requests between edge servers and origin servers, including both edge and relay server status codes.

  • Granularity: By default, data is displayed in 5-minute granularity. Hourly and daily granularities are also available.

Important: The Edge and Real-time reports use different data sources and collection methods, so slight data discrepancies may occur. Both reports can be used as references. For 5-minute granularity data, the Real-time report is recommended because of its better timeliness.

Trend Views

All status code reports support two display modes: Aggregated and Detailed. You can switch between these views as needed.

  • Aggregated: Groups different status codes based on predefined rules for a summarized view.
  • Detailed: Displays individual status codes without aggregation for a more granular view.

Details

The Details section lets you review the number of requests and the proportion for each specific status code.

For the Edge report, an additional Error Details feature is available. Clicking the Details button next to a status code displays the top URLs associated with that code, along with their referrers and request counts. You can also export a larger list of top URLs if needed.

Region & ISP Distribution Data

The Region & ISP Distribution tab focuses on the geographic distribution of 404 Not Found status codes. It shows the number of requests resulting in a 404 error, along with their proportions across different regions and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
